Greetings!

It is an honor to give you a look into my life as we continue to tear it up here in AK.

Serving as an Infantry Captain in the Army, I recently returned from a 12 month deployment in Baqubah, Iraq.  There, I led a 35 man elite reconnaissance platoon specialized in dealing with local governance, economics and training of local Iraqi forces.  The city and surrounding evrions of Baqubah were my workplace.  The task and combat tour was both harrowing and rewarding as we did our part to legitimize the sovereign nation of Iraq.

Currently, I am still serving in the capacity of platoon leader at Fort Wainwright, Alaska located in the heart of the Arctic in Fairbanks.  Everything about this place is extreme.  As I complete my tenure as a commissioned officer, I spend my free time skiing, hiking, snow machining, camping and training to summit Mt. Denali in June ’10.

Following the mountain expedition, I hope to attend law school this coming fall.

I am eager to combine my undergraduate degrees (Ohio University 2005), military experiences, and new challenge of law as as I pursue my continuing goal of serving society.

Warmest Regards,

Mario A. Cicconetti
